LIBERTY

"And it came to pass that he rent his coat; and he took a piece thereof, and wrote upon it—In memory of our God, our religion, and freedom, and our peace, our wives, and our children—and he fastened it upon the end of a pole."
And he fastened on his head-plate, and his breastplate, and his shields, and girded on his armor about his loins; and he took the pole, which had on the end thereof his rent coat, (and he called it the title of liberty) and he bowed himself to the earth, and he prayed mightily unto his God for the blessings of liberty to rest upon his brethren, so long as there should a band of Christians remain to possess the land—

These words choke me up every time I read it. It defines the love that one man had for his country, his people and more importantly his God.
What better way then to be reminded of how a person should feel during the 4Th of July & 24Th or July for pioneer day.

I believe to be truly patriotic is to bow down to the earth and thank God for all the blessings of liberty and freedom he has given us. Captain Moroni could not have written these words any better then he has in the "Book of Mormon" in Alma.

I love this country I live in. And I am thankful each and everyday for the freedom the lord has blessed me with. The freedom to be able to live in a country where I may worship my Lord. Where I may choose to home school my children with the belief of my religion. Where I can speak and blog freely with my own thoughts. I love my life. And must do all I can to preserve and protect it.
May we all have the opportunity to read from the book of Alma 46-63 and learn what is means to truly love this land. To teach our children to have a "standard" they must live by, and to live up to the example of such a great man.

In memory of our God, our religion, and freedom, and our peace, our wives, and our children.

Happy Holidays this Month!
